The World is Ending???

Today is Sat.May 21-The world is supposely ending in one hour and eight minutes. Some people really, really believe it! I sadly don't...but doesn't it make you think?
My family has been grumpy, whiny and definately unhelpful today so not a good day for our last day. Let's just say we had a difficult morning doing Sat. chores.(they all took off and went to cousins to get away from me) But if this was my last day on earth what would I want to do with my family.
I think I would want to just love one another, just cuddle in bed watching a great family movie. Eating yummy snacks and laughing out loud. I remember days like that when we homeschooled and my kids were young. Now they argue about what's good t.v. and they don't like what the other wants to watch. Now they all seem to have plans and don't include me. Parties, babysitting, jobs, going to friends or cousins, school...they are just growing up. Each day they are older and getting closer to leaving the nest. Even though they drive me crazy daily I just want to love them and get a big hug. I realize our time on earth is short and to love even the crappy parts. Love ya kids!

  1. I am sooo with you! On Sunday's we started burning all our old family video tapes to .mp4's on our computer and then to our Apple TV. The kids love to watch them as they burn because they get to see themselves when they were babies, but Brandon and I almost get a little melancholy because those were days just like you described them. When big brothers sat on little brothers and laughed and sisters got into make-up together and life was full of belching laughs and family museum trips... now any of those things would start complete chaos from siblings that want to be alone or family members that want their own plans. It is not that anyone is making bad choices, they are just learning how to integrate themselves into the world like we taught them, and with high values and virtues... so one can't be all sad about it... but yet I am, because I miss those days. But when I look back I miss all old days.

ho-hum! I am really trying to have some good family time this summer but I can't believe we both have teens that are almost the same age as when we met! I can't believe that soon we could be grandparents! (At least we had boys fist so that is father away then if our oldest were girls!) Could you imagine... that could be in just a few years if we had had girls first!

Anyway, I am sorry today was hard for you but I still found your post inspiring to enjoy my family in this moment of today and to focus on making this summer memorable for all as a family unit!
